Background

Add MES production traceability to material-forming lines by collecting pallet and ladle identifiers across material, work-in-process and finished-product flows.

Solution

Select RFID by workshop and temperature zone: HF RFID for ambient areas and UHF RFID for high-temperature areas.
Integrate RFID readers with existing PLCs on different lines and develop reading and exception-handling logic for each PLC.
Complete communications, PLC, electrical and network integration for molding and melting scenarios, followed by on-site validation.

Results

Enabled automated reading of pallet and ladle identifiers for the MES traceability workflow.
The added RFID system operated without interfering with the original production lines.
